Who are Monkfish Performance
Monkfish performance is run by enthusiasts for enthusiasts!. We treat customers cars as if they are our own and we understand that your car is your pride and joy and needs to be
looked after as such. We personally have had many cars over the years, and some of our past and present projects are shown below:
Holden SS Ute
Rogers daily driver. Fitted with Pedders suspension to lower it and a remap with a Wortec Catback Exhaust. Otherwise fairly standard and fitted with an Auto box for a more leisurely approach.
Holden SS Ute
Roger's not so daily driver. More of a weekend / track car. This ones fitted with Pedders Supercar Coilovers, Road Response Pac, Rear end Pac, Ripshifter, Wortec Focus Pac (430bhp), AP brakes, 19 inch VXR Monaro wheels and custom front splitter. It also has a wrap in brushed stainless on the bottom half.
Porsche 996 Twin Turbo S Model - 2005
This is the run out model of the 911 996 series, and comes with 30mm lowered suspension, ceramic brakes and some other goodies. We have got nice set of 19" 997 Wheels for this one, with massive 305 Tyres on the back.
1974 Triumph Stag
Recently purchased to cover for the off the road Triumph 2000. This is fitted with a 4 speed Auto conversion, Chris Witor 1 inch lowering springs, Tubular manifolds, Holley carb conversion and a set of lightweight wheels.
1989 Porsche 944 Turbo
Fitted with M030 suspension option, has a set of cup 2 alloys with front splitter and clear light lenses. This is currently running with a Promax level 2 kit, Wortec Switching exhaust, APEX I Electronic Boost Controller and is soon to be fitted with KW suspension. This car is also used to develop and test new products, including engine mods!
1969 Dodge Charger 440 RT/SE
Purchased in 2000. Was patched up to get an MOT for summer 2000, and subsequently dismantled for a full restoration. Seen here during the earlier stages of dismantling.
Plenty of rust and filler here!
The car was stripped to a shell, then various panels replaced. Subsequently the shell was bead blasted back to bare metal. Further repairs were carried out that had been exposed by the blasting.
Once all repairs were completed, all body seams were sealed, and the shell primed with etch primer. The underside was then "stonechipped" followed by the colour coats over the whole car.
After then restoring every single component on the car, it was finally completed in 2012.
1977 Rover SD1
This is a 1977 Rover SD1 which has been bead blasted back to a bare shell, and then painted in Rover Trophy Blue. It is currently in the final stages of assembly, and I have fitted it with air con, later interior and a fully adjustable air suspension setup.
Other mods include a ZF four speed auto box, remote start alarm, full stealth stereo install with period look MP3 player.
This project has become an obsession, and the finished product will be vastly better than when it was built - which although that isnt hard, it will be an "as new" car!
This has had many new body panels, ranging from doors to inner wings. It does, of course, have a nice V8 under the bonnet! It will end up with a 3.5 V8 fitted with a genuine Janspeed 1980`s Twin Turbo Kit.
This shows the boot mounted air tank and solenoid valves for each of the four air bags all are independently controlled via custom built electronic control unit.
The small compressor is next to the tank and is virtually silent.
1970 Triumph 2000
Now fitted with a Rover 3.5 V8 engine, 3 speed auto and rover P6 diff.
Bodywork restored and heavily modified, consisting of removal of guttering, door handles, filler cap and most of the chrome trim.
Bumpers were welded to the body and blended in. 1/4 light windows removed front and rear and replaced with one piece windows.
This car takes part in the club triumph round britain reliability run every two years, and has never failed to complete!
Currently off the road for an engine rebuild
1980 Triumph Dolomite Sprint
This was originally bought way back in 1990. Eventually sold in 2002, but bough back in 2014. Sadly, in the interim it has not improved. This is a long termer project.
They say you should never buy back you old cars. The saying is right!
New arrival in late 2008 - this replaced the green SS ute shown below.
As well as doubling as our demo car as its identical to the VXR 8 except its a UTE! Its was also used as a test bed for new products. In its final form it was fitted with Pedders Extreme Xa coilover, Road Response Pac, Full Wortec Exhaust System, Monkfish cam Pac with VCM air intake as well as various different wheels during our ownership. This has now been sold.
Holden SS ute
Imported summer 2003, and previously in use as a daily driver with some "minor" modifications, notably including a turbocharger the size of a dustbin!
This was sold to make way for the 2008 HSV Maloo!
Its the vehicle that got us here!
1993 Vauxhall Astra van
This van was built by Vauxhall as a one off at Ellesmere Port and was fitted with a 2.5 V6 engine, estate roof with sunroof, modified GSI body kit, roof spoiler and a custom one off interior with 4 seats.
The crazy metalflake paint was also applied by Vauxhall.
Once bought, modifications were carried out to the suspension to lower it and more importantly make to steer properly!
This saw use as a daily driver until it had to be sold to make way for the ute!
Vauxhall Astra van, 1.9 Sportive model
This was the companies Vauxhall Astra van, 2007 Sportive Model. 1.9 CDTI, with Pedders lowering springs and 19" wheels. A high spec model with heated seats, A/C, Irmscher Body kit parts. Now Sold to make way for another Porsche!
