Monaro Diff Oil:

Common complaints on Monaros is clunking noises from the diff or failing to "lock up".

Both are the result of poor oil.

The diff uses a twin cone LSD which is highly sensitive to oil viscosity and "slipperiness".

With the right level of "slipperiness" the LSD will function just fine. It is extremely rare that an oil change will not fix the

above symptoms.

We recommend and supply Royal Purple 75W/140 gear oil for the diff in your Monaro. Sometimes you may require some

additional friction modifier as well. Each diff is different. Typically 2 litres are required.

Simply drain and refill with oil.

Test drive the car for a few miles in excess of 50mph to ensure the diff is warm. If it still clunks, add modifier and repeat

until noise goes away. Too much modifier will prevent the LSD from locking up.

Gearbox Oil, Monaro and VXR8:

The standard transmission is filled with ATF fluid. Whilst good for economy, its not ideal from a lubrication standpoint.

We recommend Royal Purple Synchromax oil as a direct replacement. The main benefits are, easier shifting, less noise

as well as better component protection. Essential on higher power cars!

For the gearbox 5 litres is typically required.
