About Us

Monkfish performance is run by enthusiasts for enthusiasts!. We treat customers cars as if they are our own and we understand that your car is your pride and joy and needs to be looked after as such.

We personally have had many cars over the years, and some of our past and present projects are shown below:

Holden SS ute.

Imported summer 2003, and now in use as a daily driver with some "minor" modifications, notably including a turbocharger the size of a dustbin!!

Also used as our demonstrator - come and drive the ute!!

1989 Porsche 944TurboS

Fitted with M030 suspension option, has a set of cup 2 alloys with front splitter and clear light lenses. This is currently running with a Promax level 2 kit, and is soon to be fitted with KW suspension. This car is also used to develop and test new products, including engine mods!

1969 Dodge Charger 440 RT/SE

Purchased in 2000. Was patched up to get an MOT for summer 2000, and subsequently dismantled for a full restoration. Seen here during the earlier stages of dismantling.

Plenty of rust and filler here!!

The car was stripped to a shell, then various panels replaced. Subsequently the shell was bead blasted back to bare metal. Further repairs were carried out that had been exposed by the blasting.

Once all repairs were completed, all body seams were sealed, and the shell primed with etch primer. The underside was then "stonechipped" followed by the colour coats, as shown in the photo.

Painting of the rest of the shell is now almost complete.

This is a 1977 Rover SD1 which has been bead blasted back to a bare shell, and then painted in Rover Trophy Blue. It is currently in the final stages of assembly, and I have fitted it with air con, later interior and a fully adjustable air suspension setup. Other mods include a ZF four speed auto box, remote start alarm, full stealth stereo install with period look MP3 player.

This project has become an obsession, and the finished product will be vastly better than when it was built!! It will be an as new car!

This has had many new body panels, ranging from doors to inner wings. It does, of course, have a nice V8 under the bonnet! However, there is a great temptation to fit a LS1 engine, we will see!!

This shows the boot mounted air tank and solenoid valves for each of the four air bags - all are independently controlled via custom built electronic control unit. The small compressor is next to the tank and is virtually silent. We can build and install these systems, please enquire.

1970 Triumph 2000

Now fitted with a Rover 3.5 V8 engine, 3 speed auto and rover P6 diff.

Bodywork restored and heavily modified, consisting of removal of guttering, door handles, filler cap and most of the chrome trim. Bumpers were welded to the body and blended in. 1/4 light windows removed front and rear and replaced with one piece windows.

This car takes part in the club triumph round britain reliability run every two years, and has never failed to complete!!

1993 Vauxhall Astra van

This van was built by Vauxhall as a one off at Ellesmere Port and was fitted with a 2.5 V6 engine, estate roof with sunroof, modified GSI body kit, roof spoiler and a custom one off interior with 4 seats. The crazy metalflake paint was also applied by Vauxhall.

Once bought, modifications were carried out to the suspension to lower it and more importantly make to steer properly!

This saw use as a daily driver until it had to be sold to make way for the ute!
