Z06 Corvette RS

The plan is to create the best normally aspirated Z06 in the country - to create a clubmans road going track car, along similar principles as the Porsche GT3 RS.

The spec is huge and is largely based around the Katech Street Attack car.

Included in this project are the following items:

Replacement fully built LS7 engine to Katechs specification. All engine work has been carried out by Peter Knight @ Knight Racing Services.

New PFadt engine and transmission mounts, Killer Bee air intake, Ron Davis radiator and hose set, ARE dry sump, tank, hoses etc. Excedy twin plate clutch, Katech remote clutch bleeder, LG Motorsports Carbon driveshafts, Kooks Headers, cats and X pipe, Corsa back boxes, Penske coilover suspension, Pfadt antiroll bars and camber kit.

Once the mechanical work is completed, the car will receive a full geometry set up on our Hunter Digital Alignment machine closely followed by a full custom tune courtesy of Paul @ wortec.

First job was to remove the entire drivetrain from the car. This was done as a complete assembly, engine, torque tube and transaxle complete with front and rear subframes.

Old Engine and running gear removed - engine no longer required!

***UPDATE 26.02.10***

With the complete drivetrain removed, preparation was made for the new engine.

This included fitting the new engine and gearbox mounts, and carbon fibre driveshaft, Ron davis radiator etc.

In addition a new oil tank and breather system needed to be installed too.

With all this work complete, the entire drivetrain was reassembled and the car mated back to it.

Once all reconnected, and fired up, it was time to fit the new Penske racaing coilover and the PFDAT roll bars.

The Penske coilovers are an extremely nice setup, featuring remote resevoirs.

These were located on the radiator cowling at the front and in the boot hatches at the rear for easy access and adjustment.

At the same time as fitting the coilovers, we fitted the new camber adjusters for a more aggressive alignment setting.

Finally the roll bars were fitted. These were huge!!

With everything fitted, an a full alignment session carried out on our state of the art alignment equipment, it was time hand the car
over to our tame tuner, Paul from Wortec.

With the tuning complete and close to 600bhp on tap, the car was finally ready to hand back to the customer, ready to do battle at a track day!
