The brief was simple - fit a 3.0 Litre 944 S2 engine into the 924S.
A well executed conversion that looks like it was supposed to be there. The car is already lightened and has various plastic panels along with items such as the seats deemed too heavy therefore surplus!
It uses the 16valve engine along with the S2 gearbox and a stock exhaust ( for the moment); and also the S2 plastic fuel tank. The only electrical issue was the incompatibility of the stock rev counter - but an aftermarket one works and looks totally factory in the original instrument cluster.
The air filter arrangement is temporary, and the battery has been relocated in the boot. The pictures show it here for its running in oil change service after 1000 miles or so after the conversion and re build. There is a bit of fettling still to do by the owner, along with a good wash!
It has an additional front mounted oil cooler and uses the S2 ecu and engine harness. A bit of parts crunching and it all fits.
The end result is a fast and nimble car.
